WtEnergy was established in 2017 by founder and CEO Andrés Ponce, a world expert in Advanced Thermochemical Conversion Processes (ATCP) with over 20 years in the sectors and experience leading the development of 5 major commercial projects in Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
It is created with the aim of reducing the environmental impact derived from energy consumption in the industry, using advanced thermochemical conversion technologies for the substitution of fossil fuels in direct thermal applications.
WTEnergy has developed a unique cleantech technology, with a wide know-how and large number of projects behind it, impossible to find in the gasification and waste to energy market.
The gasification technology developed by WtEnergy has been commercially proven in several industrial contexts for both power and heat applications, processing a range of feedstock, including biomass and meat and bone meal (MBM).
WtEnergy a team of engineers and business experts based in Barcelona with an outstanding track record in advanced thermochemical conversion processes, developed a technology to tackle this challenge: an advanced method of using waste to fire the kilns. So far, waste can only be utilized to a certain extent since its usage produces chlorine, jeopardizing the functioning of the kilns. Leveraging a unique and patented pending technology, we transform waste to syngas, clean it from most of the chlorine and can therefore significantly increase the applicable amount of waste for firing cement kilns.
